FREAKS captures through analogue photography and the imperfections arising from spontaneity in an outdoor environment, an act of authenticity by portraying models recruited from the street; highlighting diversity and resistance in the face of cultural homogenisation.
The representation of these more unusual bodies reinforces the beauty of singularity and the rejection of conventional aesthetic norms.
These two series, while addressing different themes,
are interrelated in their focus on human vulnerability, the transgression of social norms and the struggle for visibility, inviting a reflection on identity, sacrifice
and resistance to established canons.
