This artistic piece explores grief and the intrusive thoughts
that arise during a recent loss, using a tailored jacket as a metaphor for the dissonance between the facade of normality
and the internal emotional chaos.
Through techniques such as patchwork and a combination of
materials like plaster, acrylic paint, and silicone, the piece is
deconstructed and reconstructed, symbolizing the disinte gration of identity and coexistence with pain. The writings and scratches on the jacket represent the intrusive thoughts that interrupt mental peace, while the luminescent layer reflects their persistence.
The work offers a reflection on the constant struggle between maintaining appearances and processing grief, connecting the
physical and emotional, and placing itself within the context
of contemporary portraiture by exploring subjective identity beyond external appearance.
